Sonia is the youngest daughter of German/Austrian refugees who arrived in England shortly before the outbreak of war. She was an actress in her twenties before turning to teaching. In 2020 she wrote her first novel, Burying the Ghosts, based on her family story, receiving enthusiastic reviews.
