Sonia Case

Sonia is the youngest daughter of German/Austrian refugees who arrived in England shortly before the outbreak of war. She was an actress in her twenties before turning to teaching. In 2020 she wrote her first novel, Burying the Ghosts, based on her family story, receiving enthusiastic reviews.

Sonia’s presentation is a wonderful mixture of illustrated historical information with original pictures from the period, combined with lively readings from the book; Based on the author’s mother escape from Nazi territories, Burying the Ghosts explores themes of prejudice, guilt and identity.
