Pen and wash sketch of the brass band playing at a local festival.
This photo is a view of a firework festival standing back from across a river.
As most festivals have fireworks this is my watercolour of them.
Watercolour with ink. After a difficult few years I recently retired and moved across the country to the North West. Having struggled to find a purposeful life I joined a local art group and have also been discovering some of the wonderful seascapes and beaches in this region. Art is a great way to lose oneself and to get things into perspective.
This picture is painted in acrylic on textured paper. and is inspired by Feria d Sevilla, an annual festival held in Seville. It is a colourful extravaganza. My lady is dancing in celebration and I hope the painting conveys her movement and the colours of the festival.
We were looking at POSITIVE and NEGATIVE space. I was going to stick a pin in a dictionary to choose a word, then FESTIVAL was proposed - so I went with it. I have used Brush pens on white card and basically "doodled" the negative space. Not a work of art, but great fun and all done in 1.5 hours!
A watercolour to celebrate Chinese New Year. Unfortunately the red in the painting didn't reproduce as bright as in the photo.
I thought of the Eisteddfod so here are some Ukrainian girls dancing, before the bad times.
A festival on each side of the river... Explosion fireworks colour.
Summer Sailing Festival on UK’s South coast. Nothing better than taking part or watching!
An abstract piece in acrylic I hope represents the joy and fun of a festival, whatever the occasion!
I attend a music festival in Heptonstall Yorkshire called Pennine Spring in which I play violin in the orchestra. Here is a watercolour of my violin resting on my piano stool. I painted it looking from above and tried to depict the variations in wood.
A Mixed Media ( acrylic ink, watercolour and acrylic paint) painting that evokes thoughts of brightly coloured clothes worn at festivals, music and joyfulness.
They don’t need an excuse for a festival in Spain but this Watercolour was inspired by a visit to Valencia “Las Fallas” (fire festival)
