I was fascinated by the size of this house in Appledore. Not much wider than an alleyway.

This is a large model of the ISS hanging from the ceiling of the National Space Centre in Leicester. Some good exhibits including the opportunity to land the Eagle Lander on the moon.

The Brocken at 1142m is the highest point in Northern Germany and the Harz Mountains. 1961 the Brocken became a high-tech electronic surveillance station for the KGB and the Stasi of East Germany, with radomes on the top of the buildings as shown. The former targeted NATO forces in Western Europe and the latter listened to telephone conversations of its citizens and threats to the State. after the fall of the Berlin Wall local people marched to the gate and entered the site on December 3rd 1989 at 12.45pm. However, the last Russian soldier did not leave the site until 1994, after demolition of buildings and removal of all surveillance equipment. Today the Brocken is a major tourist destination, part of the Harz National Park.

Space unlimited it seems atop this ridge of open access land in East Devon.

Arriving in Delhi, we soon realised that road markings were for decoration only! 😁

My favourite spot to sit a while and reflect on life. This is at the top of Rosedale Bank, North Yorkshire. You can see for miles. Space across the moors and huge skies.

This old mining engine house is on one of our dog walks and is a very tight space to crawl into the bottom but the view to the top is clear.

The Alexandria dune field, alongside the Sundays River, is considered to be the best example in South Africa of a bare coastal dune field, often referred to as a dune sea. For us, it was a seemingly never-ending space of peace and tranquility.

This photograph was taken in the narrow alleyways of the medina in Marrakesh in February last year before the dreadful earthquake. It was a maze of little shops with items crammed to capacity with a `narrow space` for the interested customer to view their wares.

The picture is made uo of 315 x 15 second exposures stacked together to show how far the stars are rotating around the earth in about 80 minutes. The church was in complete darkness apart from a security light about 70 metres to the left which has illuminated the steeple during the 80 minute exposure I believe the whole area has been illuminated by light from the stars also during the long exposure.

The open space in the gothic ruins of Whitby Abbey is a sad reminder of decay over time of this 13th century medieval abbey. To capture the full effect of the haunting remains of this iconic landmark, I took the photo with my IPhone on panoramic setting.

This photo was taken on the North Devon coast and it gives me a feeling of being transported back to the 1800s with freedom, peace and room to breathe.
